"If only Grand Master Jacques hadn't sent me out on a mission, the students, my students would still be here. They were so promising. Several of them were even prepared to take the next Mark of Mastery Exam." explained the older man.

"I'm going to feel stupid for asking this, but what is the Keyblade Academy, and who is Grand Master Jacques?" asked a dumbfounded Ray.

"The Grand Master is the Masters' master. He is getting on up in years and from what I'm to hear his sucessor has been chosen. The Keyblade Acedemy is where Keybladers from arounf the World come to train for the Mark of Mastery Exam." Chris explained quickly to Ray before turning to Karas. "Do you know who did it?!"

"We have no clue, but from the looks of the training hall, they were well versed in the art of using a Keyblade. Very troubling, indeed. There were rumors that there was a Dark Keyblade Master. Several of the other Light Masters are investigating the matter."

"You mean Dark Realmers can wield Keyblades too?" asked Ray, astonished.

"Yes, in fact, there once was a great Keyblade War, but that is a different story, for a different time." responded Master Karas, he then turned to Chris. "Do you mind if we had a word, in private?"

"Sure, if Ray doesn't mind." Chris said simply. He wasn't sure what this man wanted, but he seemed trustworthy. What could he want to ask that Ray couldn't know too though? he guess he wasn't going to find out unless he listened.

Chris and Karas moved a few yards away from Ray, who had turned away from them. "First, I would like to clarify that I do, indeed, know who you are, Master Ryder. In truth, I have been searching for you, as per the Grand Master's order. Second, why does this boy, Ray, not know about the Academy? I've noticed the sheer amount of Keychains that he has, as well as those two Keyblades that he wields. Is he the Keyblade Wielder of Legend? The one who will unlock Kingdom Hearts?"

Chris stared at the man in amazment. He guessed the Grand Master, his mentor, told this guy who to look for. "Don't... Don't tell Ray about who I am, I'll tell him myself at some point. I don't want to make him feel inferior or anything." Chris said with a sigh. "As for The Weilder of Legend, it's starting to look that way. I can tell he has the potential. Oh and about the Academy, He has spent all his life here in Radiant Garden, it didn't suprise me that he didn't know. Should I take him to see it after we are done here?"

"He should join us, we need to return as soon as possible, a direct order from the Grand Master, you see." answered Karas, looking over at Ray, then back to Chris. "We should first defeat the Heartless that are here, the Grand Master believes it's an attack by the new Heartless organization, but we will talk more about that when return to the Academy."

"Right." Chris replied and turned to run back to Ray. Maybe I should tell Ray soon. I don't want him finding out via the Grand Master. Chris though, his run turning into a fast walk. As he approched Ray, he quickly thought of what to tell him. "Hey Ray, we gotta kill these Heartless and go to the Academy. And I uh, have something I've been meaning to tell you. I am -" He was cut short by the sound of the Corridors to Darkness opening. A younger blonde guy appeared, dressing formal, all-black attire and standing like a soldier on the front lines.

"I've been looking for you, Chris." He said semi-darkly, trying hard not to look at Karas. He hadn't expected Karas to be here, so it kind of threw him off. "Your friend there is cute. Your boyfriend?"

Chris shivered visably before shouting back at the boy. "No! I'm not gay! Why does everyone think I'm gay? Who are you!?"

"My name? I am Mirage, 5th in the Eternal Black and I have strick orders to Kill The Master and hero of Light. The Grand Master's new apprentice. Sorry Chris, That means you have to go." Mirage lunged at Chris and knocked him back quicker that lightning.

Chris hit the ground, hard. He brought his Keyblades up to defend himself, but he was barely quick enough to block the Heartless's rapid attacks. Now, he wasn't even sure he'd make it back to the Academy alive.

"Mirage, I will have to fight you, as to not ruin my disguise, don't take it personally, for the sake of my mission, I must do this." Karas sent to his pupil. He and Ray attacked the Heartless from two different sides.

Mirage was still a little startled when Karas attacked him. He jumped back, staring at the group for a moment as Chris got up. I'm sorry, Master, That means I must attack you too. Quickly he jumped to the side and dash through the three of them. The movement was so quick, it left an after image of where he was standing, so it looked as if he was standing in two places at once. He wasn't sure if he had his Karas and Ray, but he knew for sure he got Chris. As the after image faded, Chris' body spazed as if being hit 70 times in one second and he fell to the ground, barely concious.

"Curaga." said Karas as he healed his fellow Master. He rushed at Mirage, using his own impressive speed, leaving a dark trail behind him.

Ray threw Void Seeker at Mirage, merely as a distraction, and kneeled by Chris to help him up.

Mirage did a flashy flip out of the way. However, Ray's little disraction worked, as Mirage's gaze was adverted to the Keyblade that just went sailing past him.

Chris allowed Ray to help him up and saw his chance to strike the now disracted Mirage. "Thundara!" He shouted, sending a large lightning bolt crashing down on the Heartless.

Mirage was thrown back several feet when the lightning hit him. As fate had it though, there was a wall right in his path, sending him head first into it. For a moment he was dazed, but when he came around, a sly smirk crossed his face. "Fine. I'll come back then. I'll strike when you least expect it. Buh-bye." He said with a polite wave before disappearing. Six Whight Knights took his place, but they seemed more interested in the other Heartless. They, along with a good number of the other Heartless, vanished, leaving a managble amount for the three to deal with.

Ray cursed the Heartless as he caught Void Seeker on its return path.

Karas lifted his Oblivion above him. "Blizzaga Storm!" A bolt of the frost spell went into the air, then dissolved into a cloud, which grew to cover the entire courtyard of Hollow Bastion, then razor-sharp hail sliced through the Heartless, purifying them.

"Who was that guy? Didn't he say Mirage, and what the Hell is the Eternal Black?" asked Ray.

"The Grand Master will explain when we get to the Keyblade Academy. We should be leaving soon." answered Karas. Suddenly, Leon entered the courtyard.
"The Heartless are retreating, we've won, for now at least. Thanks for staying back and helping out." he said to them.

"Yeah. No problem." Chris said almost distantly. "I guess you heard what he said about me." He said to Ray, not looking at him. Damn Mirage, he ha ruined it. What if Ray was mad because he didn't here it from Chris himself?
