"Don't do that!" He said, leaning away and looking at her eyes, "Ever! You almost gave me a heart attack!"

Finally, a reaction. She glaced over to him with a confused look on her face. "What do you mean, Yani?" She asked. She knew very well what he meant, and she was happy about it, but she wanted to hear him say it to be sure.

"I'm not entirely sure," He said truthfully, "Just that there's this pounding in my chest whenever we touch and I'm happiest with you. I know if I close my eyes to rest your image will be there. The pain I felt when we first met, I know now was the ghost of my heart beating. Just like it is now. It's a nice pain."

Her eyes softened as he spoke. No one had ever said anything like that to her. Finally, she returned his hug and cuddled up to him. Even as a somebody, no one had ever felt like that. It was the one thing she always wanted.
