"Hmm," Naventil replied, his tone disinterested. Honestly, he didn't believe the stranger. But disregarding that fact, he was about to lose his source of amusement which meant it was almost time for he himself to bow out for the day. A quick glance up at the sky only spurred that on, and nimbly he dropped from his perch to the ground and slid his hood up over his head in one lithe movement. The Heartless had begun his journey back to wherever it was he came from and since Nav had nothing better to do, he laughed softly, "another interesting thing. I wasn't aware Heartless were able to be scared of things or people... Ah well. My thanks for the amusement, Sir'Stark," the boy said with a half-wave as he turned to go, "and I thank you for the answers to my questions. I'm fully prepared to return to The World That Never Was now thanks to you."
Again his eyes turned upwards, a shudder running through his body as the sky watched him from above. In the time he had stopped to speak to the Heartless, the sky had somehow managed to get darker, the formerly purplish-green clouds now a solid mass of Darkness. And to top it all off, he still hadn't found someone to spend the night with. It was turning out to be an interesting day.

Foolish Nobody. thought Stark as he dropped off the side of the building and turned back toward Naventil. I am on a recon mission. The Heartless quietly shadowed the Nobody, easily keeping track of his scent of nothingness. The Seventh Eternal Black took to the rooftops, his chain hugging him tightly, as to not make any noticeable noise. Stalking the Nobody, he watched as he traveled through the dark streets of the Void. As Stark stalked the nonexistent man, he assumed he'd continue to search for a suitable mate for the night, judging from his past activity. But, then again, you never could be sure with the Inbetween.

Silently wandering the streets of The Void, the Nobody was indeed looking for something as Stark had supposed. But what he was looking for was far from a compnaion. No, he had given up on that idea hours ago and with it had gone any desire for rest. He was in a state of insomnia, one could say. And though he had said he was going to return to The World That Never Was, as soon as he had abandoned the Heartless' company, his previous boredom had returned full force and he found himself desperately looking for something--anything, really--to alleviate the feeling. So it was that Nav had returned to his mindless walking. At first, the urge merely took him up and down the winding alleys and backstreets, his curiosity prompting him to look into several abandoned shop winows. He soon realized, however, that this wasn't going to get him anywhere and so his took things to a new level--literally--and traveled across several rooftops before finding himself standing above the main square again. It was here that he paused. Strangely enough, as he looked down, he could swear that the number of Heartles' wandering about the gathering place had increased as the night had fallen and the Darkness intensified. "Strange..." he muttered to himself as his folded beneath him of their own accord and watched the strange scene below. Beneath him, he could see the Heartless as they wandered across the square, many of whose essences leaked onto the pavement and blending into on another till the whole place seemed like a mass of Darkness interupted only here and there by a few more powerful Heartless. His hand reached up to pull the hood from his head so that he could see better, the feel of even the chill, lifeless wind of The Void welcome after hours of travel in hiding. Pulling his light weapons from where he had hidden them, Naventil lay each within easy reach in case of an attack and then resumed his watching of the curious scene below. So far, none of them had sighted them--thank heavens--and he figured that here would be better than anywhere else to pass the night. Come morning, he would most likely leave and begin travelling again. A sharp pain, however, and the sound of a faint footstep interupted his watching. Instinctively, one of the Nobodies hands flew up to rub his scar, while the other rested on one of the silver blades cautiously. /'Even after all these years...'/ he thought silently as he twisted his head around to glance about.
Now it could have just been his active imagination, but he could have sworn that the massive smoke stack several rooves over had moved...

Stark quickly ducked behind a nearby chimney, hoping to not be spotted. "Fuck!" he exhaled. I didn't take into consideration that he would join me up on the rooftops. Oh well, live and learn. he thought. It was about midnight, all of the surrounding Heartless were out in force, searching for some of the darkworld denizens so as to absorb their Darkness into their own, the Heartless equivalent to evolving. Stark sent a chain along the roof to find a loose tile. The chain slithered in a serpentine fashion, until it found a suitable distraction, it tapped a tile loose, then slipped off the roof and tossed it toward a building a few yards away.

Naventil's eyes stared out at the shadowy mass, but they no longer saw what was there. Caught by the sight of the spires of The Palace of Eternal Black looming silently in the distance, he no longer paid the residents of the Void any heed. They were merely noise in the background compared to his thoughts. Was this really all he had come to see? It hadn't been that different, had it? A broken building or two here, shops and a marketplace there. It was all the same in the end, unless one counted the strange Heartless he had met today. Stark, he thought to himself with a smile. Now /there/ was a curious being. Granted, he enjoy destroying public property. But that could be looked over in the long run, if only because of his size. No. What really caught Nav had been the man himself. He was like nothing he had ever seen! Perhaps it was due to his increased state of solitary living over the past few years, but before he stopped travelling, he was pretty sure there had been no such thing...
Plum eyes shifted back into focus as the sound of a tile hitting something nearby registered in Nav's mind. Almost instantaneously, the boy's blades were in his hands, and he had stood up once more. Half-crouched, he balanced on the precariously sloping rooftop, his eyes narrowed. Wary as ever, he took a single step forward before glancing about himself. To his left, as before, the roofline stretched away into the nothingness beyond, while to his right, the marketplace remained crowded as before, though noticeably darker. Nothing had changed. "Thank god," he muttered softly, his cheeks puffing as he blew a sigh of relief. Lifting a hand that was strangely empty of weaponry to his head, he slid his fingers through brown hair before collapsing on the roof with a soft mutter that sounded strangely like "I need a vacation..."

The already dark skyway turned jet black, only denizens of Darkness could really see in it. Stark moved from his hiding spot and faced the lost Nobody. His blood red eyes glowed in the dark, a unique trait of his. He could no longer hold himself back, his insanity and inner evil let itself loose in the form of the Heartless's demented laughter, which echoed along the blackened rooftops.

A soft hiss slid through Naventil's teeth as he sat up yet again. His movement, fluid and almost indiscernable, pushed him to his feet, before slim hands lept to his side, as if he were about to draw a gun. Whipping them outwards, his blades, of course, following the motion as they slid from their hiding place with a soft, shhhing sound. For the thousandth time that night, he glanced about himself calmly and spoke. "If you want to talk, show yourself," he said, his words echoing mockingly back at him across the rooftop. He didn't seemed fazed by the sound, however, and now that his mask had been restored, he was more than able to face the shadows that hovered tauntingly at the edges of his vision without the least bit of fear.
He couldn't see anything as he stepped agilely across the shingled rooves, but refused to give up the search this time. Just because he couldn't see something, after all, didn't mean that there wasn't anything there... It just meant that finding it may be a bit harder than usual. "Damn," he cursed under his breath as the sound of the laughter continued to float about him. First it was in one place, and then another. What the hell is with this place, he marveled silently. Nothing in this world of darkness seemed right; it was worse than Wonderland!

Stark's psychotic laughed died. "Oh you're no fun, Nobody." The glowing eyes widened. The Seventh hopped from roof to roof, getting closer and closer the the out-of-Realmer. "But I guess that was idiotic of me, to expect a creature with no heart to know how to have fun. You're just an empty shell, nothing inside! How would you like it if I made your 'life' easier?"

Naventil's grip tightened on the two blades and he took an instinctive step backwards. One appearance had been enough to convince him that this Stark fellow wasn't one to be taken lightly in a fight. The second appearance was an eye-opener to Nav's lack of situational awareness... "Back already?" he questioned, his dark eyes narrowing just the slightest bit as the other's massive form drew closer. On second thought, he told himself, I don't think situational awareness...
"And thank you, but no thank you; my life's good enough as it is now."

His deep red eyes narrowed. "What life?!" he roared with laughter. "You're a Nobody, you're NOTHING! You don't exist! I'd be doing the Realms a favor, as well as gratifying myself by taking you out." The darkest hour finally passed, allowing what little "light" to shine on in the Dark World. Stark's demeanor showed that he was ready for the kill, his chain was unwound, moving around his body in anticipation, allowing him to stand at his full height of six feet and seven inches. His menacing smile evergrowing.
